With the long off-season starting to take its toll with us faithful fans of the CFL, we thought it would be a good opportunity to reach out to a few of our CFLPA players reps to see what they’ve been up to and what they have planned before the start of the 2015 season. Today, we check in with BC Lions Kicker: Paul McCallum.
CFLPA: Hi Paul, thanks so much for taking time to answer a few questions about your off-season. What keeps you busy in the off-season?
Paul McCallum: “I have been a real estate agent for the past 9 years and when the off season starts I usually ramp up my business and take some time away from football. My life changes twice a year really, I go from the structure of football to the not so structured world of real estate.”
PA: Do you plan on including any vacation between now and the start of training camp? If not, what will you do to relax before the start of the season?
PM: “Since the season ended I have been away to Las Vegas once where I went to see shows and some friends. Surprisingly I don’t gamble. But that’s it for my vacations this off-season.”
PA: How is this off-season different from years past? Are there any changes you plan to make to your training regimen?
PM: “This off season is no different than any other. I won’t get back to the gym and my workouts until February 1st. When that date hits, it’s back to 4 sessions per week. My goals are pretty much the same each off season. Be in the best shape I can be for the new season and be the best I can be. Having a better season than the past and not missing any field goals!”
Thanks a lot to Paul for taking time out of his work schedule to answer a few of our questions!
