Canadian Football League Players’ Association partners with SWIFT Learning to help players prepare for careers after football
Mississauga, ON — SWIFT Learning and the Canadian Football League Players’ Association (CFLPA) today announced a collaboration that provides CFL Players’ Association members and their spouses free access to an online library which includes courses in Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) learning.
SWIFT Learning is widely acknowledged as an industry leader in HSE online learning, delivering programs to millions of users through its leading technological platform. The platform offers opportunities for those who are enrolled to gain important health, safety and environmental certifications that can be gateways to a new career path when football is over.
“The mandate for our academy, and the CFLPA more broadly, is to respond to the needs of our members and seek to provide meaningful opportunities to ensure their holistic success on and off the field,” said Brian Ramsay, CFLPA Executive Director. “By collaborating with SWIFT Learning, we are pleased that our membership will continue to gain access to practical resources to assist them in a variety of future career paths.”
The SWIFT online platform will allow CFLPA members and their spouses to easily access and enroll for any of SWIFT Learning’s over 60 online courses. It is user-friendly and available on all devices and in over 100 languages.
“I am a huge fan of the CFL. These are very challenging times and I thought we could make a positive impact by offering our HSE eLearning library to the CFL membership and their spouses,” Kim Adolphe, President and CEO of SWIFT Learning stated. “Many CFL athletes are thinking about life after football and many of those careers require this type of training. Our hope is that this will add value when looking for a job, but also empower and protect them on the job!”
The SWIFT Learning program promises that CFLPA members who complete the courses and earn certification as a safety practitioner, specialist or technologist will have a real understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements and protocols that will help qualify them for future or current work.
The CFLPA Academy seeks to provide career development opportunities aimed at helping members prepare for life outside of professional football. The Academy has partnered with several established institutions in the U.S. and Canada and offers a suite of education-based programs that support members, and their families, in pursuing future careers after the game.
