CFLPA welcomes Ian Sanderson as Director of Membership Administration

Mississauga, ON – The Canadian Football League Players’ Association is pleased to welcome Ian Sanderson as it’s new Director of Membership Administration.

“Ian Sanderson is among the most experienced, knowledgeable and hard-working football administrators in Canada and we are thrilled he is joining our staff,” said Brian Ramsay, CFLPA Executive Director. “He understands the needs and position of our membership, is respected by those who have worked with him and will be a tremendous asset as we move forward as an Association.”

In this newly created and important role, Sanderson will work closely with Ramsay, the CFLPA Executive, and its counsel team. He will liaise with the CFLPA membership and maintain a relationship with the CFL. Sanderson will advise and review player contracts, manage agent registration and relations, provide oversight on all grievance-related procedures, and enforce and advise on the collective agreement.

Sanderson has been part of the Canadian Football League for nearly three decades. He joined the Toronto Argonauts in 1991 in its video department and later became Director of Football Operations and Assistant General Manager. For the past number of years, he has been responsible for every aspect of the club’s operational and administrative football duties. Sanderson, who will be based at the CFLPA’s main office in Mississauga, Ontario, holds a Bachelor of Science and an Advanced Coaching Certificate from York University.
