Joining the Lions as a free agent signing, Alex spent seven weeks as a reserve on the 46-man roster before being placed on the practice roster. He made his Lions and CFL debut in the club’s final regular season game versus Calgary on Nov 7/14 notching an impressive eight defensive tackles, a forced fumble and two special teams stops.


2009-2013: Alex appeared in 35 games over three seasons for Washington State with 33 starts at linebacker. The California native recorded an impressive 178 defensive tackles and four interceptions, two of which he returned for touchdowns. Prior to his time with the Cougs, Alex attended Moorpark College where in addition to football he also was a member of the school’s track and field team participating in javelin, long jump and the 4x100 relay team.
