Alexis dressed for all 18 regular season games for the third consecutive year and extended his games-played streak to 54 heading into 2009. He recorded just one reception in 2008 but it went for 41 yards, the longest of his career. Alexis also notched three special teams tackles for the season and recorded a forced fumble in the Lions 33-12 West Semi-Final win at Saskatchewan. He added three special teams tackles in the playoffs including two in the West Final.
Despite seeing only spot duty on offense, Alexis adds valuable in a special team role. Recorded a blocked punt in 2007 along with six special teams tackles.
Appeared in all 18 regular season games as well as the 2006 West Championship and 2006 Grey Cup. Made his professional debut in Week 1 versus Saskatchewan (June 16/06). Scored his first professional TD on his first career catch (4 yds from Pierce) at Saskatchewan (September 24/06). Playing primarily on special teams, Alexis also recorded five tackles last season.
Alexis finished his four-year career at Kentucky with 835 yards on 207 rushes and 8 touchdowns. Also caught 28 passes for 259 yards and four TD’s.
Alexis graduated with a degree in Political Science and a Masters of Public Administration. His efforts off the field earned him Academic All-District IV (first team) honours from the College Sports Information Directors of America (2004) and second team honours in 2003. He was also named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll in 2002, 2003 and 2004. Alexis lives in Vancouver year-round and is involved in many Lions off-season community initiatives.
