Barrett was activated off the practice roster in Week 14 against the Saskatchewan Roughriders. In six games, he played primarily on special teams. Barrett dressed as a backup wide receiver in the Western Semi-Final against Saskatchewan and primarily played special teams. In the Western Final against Calgary, Barrett recorded one kickoff return for 23 yards.
Barrett spent five years with the Edmonton Huskies Junior Football Club. In 2013, his 521 all-purpose yards led the team. In 2012, he attended Eskimo training camp.
