In 9 games Dales punted 58 times for 2739 yards (47.2-yard average, longest 65 yards) and 6 singles. He also had 1 special teams tackle. He left the Labour Day Classic early with a foot injury and spent the rest of the season on the 9-game injured list. Dales was also selected by his peers as the a member of the CFLPA`s 2012 All Star team.
Dales earned West all-star and CFL all-star honours and was the Stampeders’ nominee for the CFL’s Most Outstanding Special Teams Player award. It was also a milestone season for him as the regular-season finale in Winnipeg on Nov. 5 marked Dales’ 100th career game. He played in all 18 regular-season games and led the CFL with a 45.5-yard punting average thanks to 5,366 yards on 118 kicks. His net average was 35.1 yards and he accumulated five punt singles. Dales twice averaged better than 50 yards per punt in a single game — on Aug. 15 against Edmonton and on Oct. 17 against Saskatchewan. In addition to the league honours, he was named to the CFLPA’s all-star team.
Dales established a career high with 39.0-yard net-punting average and was also named West Division all-star for the second time and he made the CFLPA’s all-star team. He also recorded career-highs with 122 punt attempts, 5,609 yards and 10 singles.
In his fourth season with the Stamps, Dales played in every game including the West Final and Grey Cup. He had 110 punts for 5,076 yards, just 18 yards shy of his career high. He set a personal best with a 46.1-yard average. His best game came against Toronto on Sept. 20 when he booted nine punts for 484 yards and an average of 53.8, both his highest totals of the season. For the fourth straight season, Dales ranked in the top five in the CFL for punting average.
Dressed in 10 regular-season games including the first seven of the season before an injury sidelined him. He punted a season-high 13 times for 587 yards at Saskatchewan on July 8. He recorded his longest punt of the season at home versus Toronto on July 21, booming an 80-yarder. The kick was one of three kicked by Dales in 2007 that travelled more than 60 yards. Dales split the punting duties with Duncan O’Mahony and saw action in three of the final four games of the regular season.

Dales played his college football at Concordia University…He was a standout punter and in 2001 he averaged 41.5 yards per punt…He was a three time All-star selection in the Quebec Interuniversity Football Conference (QIFC) and in 2001 he was a first team All-Canadian selection in the CIS.
Burke’s sister Stacey plays for the Washington Mystics of the Women National Basketball Association (WNBA)…Burke is also the cousin of Dallas Stars (NHL) center Jason Arnott.
