In seven games (two starts) McKinley recorded eight defensive tackles, two sacks, one pass knockdown and one forced fumble. McKinley recorded his first CFL sack in Week 14 against Saskatchewan. After signing on to the Esks practice roster on August 28, McKinley made his Eskimo debut on September 12 starting at defensive tackle. McKinley dressed as a backup defensive tackle in the Western Semi-Final against Saskatchewan and the Western Final against Calgary.


In 23 games at the University of Minnesota, McKinley recorded 43 tackles, 10.5 tackles for a loss, three fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles.
