Career Years:

Another steady year for the second-year Lion as Cord started all 18 games for the club notching 54 tackles which was third-best on the club to go along with an interception. He also tallied an interception in the Eastern Semi-Final.

In his first CFL season, Cord enjoyed a banner year playing in and starting all 18 regular season games for the Lions. The gifted defender led the team and the West Division with six interceptions and 121 return yards for which he was rewarded with a West Division All-Star selection. Cord enjoyed a terrific pro debut with an interception return for a TD versus Calgary on Jun 28 and was ultimately in on a league-high nine takeaways with his six picks and three fumble recoveries for 48 yards and a score (Sep. 27 vs Winnipeg). Cord's 64 tackles were fourth on the Lions and he equaled his season-high of seven tackles on three occasions while making at least one stop in 17 of 18 regular season games. He also added seven more on special teams tackles and a team-leading nine pass knockdowns.

Cord spent time with four NFL squads before joining the Lions as a free agent in 2012. He was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the St. Louis Rams in 2009 and spent a short time on the active roster appearing in two games. After being claimed off waivers by the Seattle Seahawks in 2010, made some preseason appearances but was eventually released. In 2011 he was signed by the Minnesota Vikings and spent the year on practice roster. Cord’s final NFL stop came in 2012 with the New Orleans Saints.
