Calgary signed Brown as a free agent on June 9, 2011. He signed with the Edmonton Eskimos on May 17, 2011, and was released during training camp. Brown signed as an undrafted free agent with National Football League’s the Oakland Raiders in 2008 and also spent time on the practice rosters of the New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts. Brown played three games with the New Orleans Voodoo of the Arena Football League in 2011.
Brown spent four seasons at McNeese State with the Cowboys. Brown started his collegiate career as a receiver and made 17 receptions for 326 yards and three touchdowns. He then made the conversion to defensive back for his final two seasons and recorded 66 tackles and a fumble recovery. Brown earned All-Southland Conference honours as a senior. Brown was also an All-American track athlete at McNeese, winning the conference triple jump and coming in second in the high jump.
