Highlights

2011

After signing with Edmonton in August, Collins played in 1 game (1 start) and had 3 catches for 36 yards. He then spent the remainder of the season on the practice roster. Prior to joining the Esks, Dobson played in 6 games for the BC Lions in 2011, posting 14 receptions for 217 yds. He was released by BC on August 8, 2011.

2010

He was placed on the 49’ers practice roster following training camp and was subsequently released in October that year. He also spent time with the Philadelphia Eagles before being released in September 2010.

2009

Dobson was signed as an undrafted free agent by the San Francisco 49’ers in 2009.

Aquired

Collins signed as a free agent with the Lions on April 27, 2011 after attending the club's free agent camp in Atlanta.

College

Dobson appeared in 42 games with 22 starts at Gardner-Webb. The speedy wideout caught 143 passes for 1,754 yards and 14 touchdowns and was also a two-time All-Big South selection as a punt returner and wide receiver. His most productive season was as a senior in 2008 when he tied a school mark with 76 receptions for 937 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was also ranked as one of the top punt returners in the conference with a 9.7 yards per punt return average. A versatile athlete, Dobson also compete in track and field, he holds the school record in the 55, 60 and 110 meter hurdles. He was named the 2006 Atlantic Sun Conference champion in the 60 meter hurdles and was named the Freshman of the Year after his team won the outdoor track title that year.

Personal

A gifted athlete and student, Dobson majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry while at Gardner-Webb. Collins played college football and participated in track and field at Gardner-Webb University. Playing football from the age of 12, he lists scoring the game-winning TD over rival Stony Brook as a senior as his biggest gridiron memory to date. A talented dancer, he’s participated in numerous competitions through high school and college. Dobson is a big Bob Marley fan and loves to catch episode of The Game while listing Remember the Titans as his favourite movie. He lists his mom, Sylvia as his biggest fan.
