Calgary signed Fassitt as a free agent on May 17, 2011. Fassitt signed with the National Football League’s Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent in May of 2007 and joined the club’s practice roster on Sept. 2, 2007. He signed with the New Orleans Saints on Jan. 19, 2008, and was released Sept. 11. He signed a future contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Dec. 31, 2008, and released on May 4, 2009. The United Football League’s Florida Tuskers drafted Fassitt in 2009. He signed with the Tuskers but was released in order to re-sign with New Orleans. He appeared in one game for the Saints during the 2009 season.
Fassitt played for the Grambling State Tigers from 2003-06. As a junior, he helped the Tigers beat Alabama A&M to win the 2005 Southwestern Athletic Conference championship. That year, Fassitt was named to the All-Southwestern Athletic Conference second team as he collected three interceptions, 36 tackles, one sack and six pass breakups. For his Grambling career, he had 110 tackles and seven interceptions.
