Hamid made the club's opening day starting lineup coming out of training camp and played in the Lions first two games, but injuries on defence forced the Lions to make the gifted defensive back a healthy scratch for seven weeks before placing him on the practice roster for the balance of the season.
Mahmoudi was selected by the Lions in the third round (20th overall) of the 2010 Canadian Draft.
Hamid joined the Lions after four years at the University of Montreal (2006-2009) where he appeared in 25 career games. The speedy corner notched 13 career interceptions on his way to QUA All-Star selections in 2007 and 2008 as well as All-Canadian status in 2008.
Hamid studied Drug Use Prevention and Rehabilitation while at the University of Montreal. He was born in Iran where both his father and brother played professional soccer. When not training for football, Hamid enjoys catching up on the daily happenings in the sports world by way TSN or RDS and sharpens his football mind playing Madden on his Playstation. He lists Ludacris as his favorite musical artist and notes attending E-Camp in March of 2010 as his biggest football memory to date.
