Cooper played in 17 games, mostly on special teams. He recorded one defensive tackle and eight special teams tackles. He was on the reserve list for the Oct 9 game against BC due to illness. Playoffs: Cooper played in the Western Semi-Final on special teams and recorded a special teams tackle.
Cooper recorded one defensive tackle and 12 special teams tackles in 18 games (one start). In the East Semi-Final he had two special teams tackles. In the East Final Cooper scored his first CFL touchdown when he blocked a punt, forcing a fumble and recovering it in the end zone in the first quarter to put the Esks on the board early. He also recorded a defensive tackle.
Cooper attended Manitoba from 2005-2007. His senior year he registered 34 tackles, 10 tackles for losses and 7 sacks and was a Canada West Conference All-Star, Canada West Outstanding Lineman of the Year and a First Team All-Canadian. He was also the 2007 East-West Bowl Defensive MVP. The Bisons also won the 2007 Vanier Cup. He left Manitoba with 94 defensive tackles, 22 tackles for losses, 16 sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Prior to joining the Bisons, Cooper played for the Edmonton Huskies of the Canadian Junior Football League and attended the Calgary Stampeders training camps in 2004 and 2005.
He graduated from Lindsay Thurber High School (Red Deer, AB) where he played football, soccer, volleyball, baseball and hockey.
