Sakoda began the season with Saskatchewan and was released August 2, 2010. He then signed with Winnipeg August 10th. He suffered an injury and did not see game action and was released September 22.
He has signed as a free agent with the San Diego Chargers in 2009, but was released before the season. Sakoda joined Saskatchewan late in the season and handled punting and kickoff duties in the final 2 regular season games, CFL West Final and Grey Cup
A standout at Utah, Sakoda was just the second player in NCAA history to be a finalist for both the Lou Groza and Ray Guy Awards, which goes to the top kicker and punter in US college football respectively. He attended Branham High School (San Jose, CA) where he was a Two-time All-League player and named Most Outstanding Special Teams Player. He was also a three-year varsity baseball player at pitcher and center field and helped the baseball team to league title in 2004. He majored in business marketing in college
