Personal

Marcus Ball is the son of Catherine Geiger and Reggie Ball. His older brothers are Reggie Ball Jr., a former Georgia Tech quarterback, and Raeshon Ball, a former defensive back at Chattanooga.  Marcus was born in Virginia but grew up near Atlanta, Georgia. He attended Stephenson High School where he was named First-Team All-Star and District Defensive Player of the Year as a senior. Stephenson is the same high school attended by current CFL players Byron Parker and Anthony Cannon, and former CFL players Sean Lucas and Michael Grant.

College

Split his college career between the University of Memphis (2009-10), and Pearl River (Miss.) C.C. (2008) and Florida State (2006-07)…2010 (Memphis) Started nine of 10 games for the Tigers at DB…Made 66 total tackles, 4 PKDs, and intercepted 2 passes for 63 yards…2009 (Memphis) Transferred to Memphis from Pearl River C.C…Played nine games with three starts for the Tigers…Made 42 DT, 4 PKD and 2 INTs for 14 yards… Earned inaugural Jeremy Williams Award as spring's Most Valuable Player… 2008 (Pearl River C.C.) Transferred to Pearl River C.C. in Mississippi from Florida State… Earned a First-Team All-American as a safety…2007 (Florida St.) Dressed in nine games for Florida State… Made 24 tackles, one fumble recovery, three knockdowns and one sack…2006 (Florida St.) Dressed in four games making 13 tackles, 2 PKDs, and one INT for 54 yards…Named to active roster as a true freshman before suffering a season-ending knee injury. Granted a red-shirt exemption due to injury.
