Dewit was acquired in a trade with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Jan. 2, 2012, along with quarterback Kevin Glenn and a conditional pick in the 2013 CFL Canadian Draft in exchange for quarterback Henry Burris.
Dewit played nine regular-season games for Hamilton in 2011 and also played in the team’s two playoff games, including the East Division final.
Mark attended training camp with the Toronto Argonauts, he was released on June 22

Mark spent the off-season in his hometown of Calgary taking courses toward his Bachelor of Commerce degree. He also coached a midget football team called the Bulldogs. He has one older brother, Matthew and his favourite movie is Happy Gilmour and enjoys all types of music. A two-sport athlete, Mark won the CIS national wrestling championship in his weight class. He attended Bishop Carrol H.S. and won the Henry Philip Taylor award as the top student athlete and was a provincial high school wrestling champion in his weight class. His father, John, played NCAA football at Weber State and his mom is Sheryl.
