Sherko enjoyed a fantastic season as a veteran with the BC offensive line. He started in all 18 games at guard and extended his consecutive games played streak to 30.
Added another season as a mainstay on the BC offensive line playing in 15 games while starting 12. Missed three games due to injury early in the season (Weeks #2, 5 and 6) but bounced back to finish strong and see action in both playoff contests.
Became a regular at guard in 2007 starting all 17 games he played. Missed one game due to a suspension (Sep 29/07) for rough play at Saskatchewan the previous week. Has only missed 2 other games in the last four seasons. Started the West Final vs Saskatchewan for the second straight year.
Sherko enjoyed a fine college career at Miami (1999-2002). As a senior in 2002 he was an All-Big East selection twice with a reputation of playing his best football in the school’s most important games.
A Finance and Marketing major, Rasouli is the son of Mehrdad and Soraya Rasouli. Sherko spends his off-season in the Vancouver area. Sherko attended J.A. MacDonald High School in Toronto and played both offensive tackle and defensive end. He was the third highest ranked football player in Canada in 1997 as well as team MVP as a senior. Sherko also played basketball, rugby and was a member of the school’s track team (shot put). He started at center for the basketball team and averaged 10 points and 12 rebounds in leading squad to the city championship his senior season.
