The CFL Players’ Association announces support of Kids Help Phone:
Invites community to attend special event during 104th Grey Cup

(Stoney Creek, ON)  The CFL Players’ Association is teaming up with Kids Help Phone for the 104th Grey Cup at our Players’ Headquarters to encourage youth to ask for help and to raise important funds to ensure that Kids Help Phone is always open for youth across Canada. Players will be available from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. from November 24-26 at Boston Pizza, 250 Front Street West, Toronto, to sign autographs and answer questions.

“The CFL Players’ Association and its members are proud to announce our support of  Kids Help Phone,” said Jeff Keeping, President of the CFLPA. “Each year, CFL Players across the country spend hundreds of hours delivering bullying awareness messaging to kids aged 6 through 13.  These messages align directly with the work done on a daily basis by Kids Help Phone. When a young person discloses an issue with bullying, or any other issue for that matter, it’s important for our players to be able to provide that young person with a credible and reliable resource they can turn to. Kids Help Phone has been a go-to source for kids for over 27 years, so they were obviously an easy decision to work with.”

“We are delighted that the CFL Players’ Association, and its members, have selected Kids Help Phone as their charitable partner for the 104th Grey Cup. We hope many families and young people will join us at Boston Pizza for some great events from November 24 to 26.” said Susan Hallsworth, Director of Corporate Development, Kids Help Phone. “As Canada’s only national support line for young people, we rely on donations to ensure that we’re always open when kids need us most. By giving to Kids Help Phone, you are helping a young person at a crucial moment – perhaps even saving a life.”

“CFL Players enjoy giving back to the communities where they both live and play.  Their engagement in their communities is part of what makes CFL Players so unique.” said Brian Ramsay, Executive Director of the CFLPA.  “The CFLPA is proud to work with Kids Help Phone, and we are hoping that the presence of our Players at our Headquarters at Boston Pizza’s Front Street location will raise funds to help ensure that kids across Canada can always reach Kids Help Phone.”
